Welcome to Waha. We're excited to see you here!

From the first conversation two years ago, Waha is ready for the world!

The journey to this point has drawn in well over 50 individuals and a dozen organisations: rangatahi, educators, designers, and justice professionals.

We have come together around a shared vision of Aotearoa New Zealand. We imagine a place where all children and young people thrive, where their rights are respected and their voices heard. But to get there, work must be done.

Today, we are sharing a first glimpse of our collective efforts. The resources we have made will be tested and piloted with six schools during Term Two (April-June). Download links wont work for now but you can still navigate the site. More resources - there are currently 20 in development - will be ready to view and use before the end of Term Two. This includes external links to quality resources hosted by government and community organisations.

We're also making an Election Special. By bringing together several resources in one package, we aim to make it easy for teachers to make the most of the 2026 Election.

Please sign up for the newsletter and follow us on socials. This is the best way to get updates and stay connected to the kaupapa. One of the central ideas in Waha is the power of collective voice. Every voice matters in the task of making Aotearoa New Zealand a place where all children and young people thrive. We'd love to have you along for the ride.

Lesh-go!

The Waha Team.
